In order to respond to the rapidly evolving market and customer needs, digital transformation has become a key element in the banking industry. Supari, the Director of Micro Business at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), revealed that the banking industry needs to continuously update its business model based on technology, especially to develop the micro segment.
He also stated that the banking industry needs to take steps towards efficiency through digital transformation. The changing demographics of internet and mobile phone users in Indonesia are also crucial factors that accelerate the development of digital services in the banking sector. This can be seen from the innovations implemented by BRI in their digitalization efforts.
BRI has utilized Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in their cross-selling application called SenyuM Mobile, which is used by 63,000 salespeople from micro-holding companies (BRI, Pegadaian, and PNM). BRI has also implemented business process reengineering through the BRISPOT application. Additionally, incorporating the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) into sustainable business growth is an important part of BRI’s business plan.
From a social aspect, BRI has created Link UMKM, a platform that can be accessed for free by business owners. Furthermore, BRI has developed the Pasar.id and Pasar Rakyat Indonesia (PARI) platforms, which provide transaction convenience and various solutions for ecosystem stakeholders in integrated BRI services.
